Experienced GCSE and A Level Biology Teacher and GCSE Science teacher and tutor who can support you in your science subjects
I taught in schools in Norfolk, Somerset, North London and Essex for 34 years, and then took early retirement in April 2017. Since then I have been successfully tutoring students in all science disciplines from KS3 to KS4 plus A level Biology. I can tutor online, or I can tutor face-to-face in my local area.
In the last nine years, I have successfully tutored over 120 students both online and face-to-face in KS3 Science, KS4 Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and KS5 Biology. Many of these students have been based in the UK, and I have also worked with a lot of students based in other countries including the UAE, Qatar, and Zimbabwe.
Being a teacher with 34 years experience in the classroom, I plan resources and sessions to suit the individual student's needs, taking into account their subject requirements, the exam board specification, and the student's ability plus any other requirements. I can provide relevant resources prior to the sessions or as a follow up.
I have worked with all exam boards in terms of tutoring, including the CIE iGCSE and A level, WJEC/Eduqas at A level. In addition, I am an experienced exam marker for Edexcel.
Students that I have worked with as a tutor have achieved predominantly A*, A and B grades at A level as well as (old grades) A*, A and B grades and now (new grades) 9, 8, and 7s for GCSEs in the sciences. Several of these have now gone on to study medicine at university.
