Fun, friendly, enthusiastic, experienced and flexible, qualified Languages Teacher.
I am a qualified, fun, experienced and flexible Languages Teacher. I am happy to teach French from beginners, pre-school, KS1, 2 and 3. I am currently teaching French at GCSE and A Level. In German I teach from beginners through to GCSE level. I am also currently teaching A Level German. In Spanish I teach from beginners to GCSE Level. I also enjoy teaching adults in all three subjects, who may wish to learn languages for fun, work or holiday reasons. I have taught languages in three Secondary Schools and have been head of French and Head of Department. I have also taught Languages in over 15 Primary Schools as well as teaching adults. I am DBS Checked and part of the DBS Update Service.
I have successfully tutored many students at KS2, KS3, 4 in all three languages. I have taken students through to A level in French and German, with many of them obtaining A* results. The students were positive, enjoyed their lessons and gained confidence, learning vocabulary and grammar but also about the Culture of the language and communication skills.
I always plan my lessons well and in advance of the lesson and I also adapt the lesson whilst teaching, if necessary, to cater for the individual needs of each student. Lessons are all tailored to the needs of the student. Lessons will typically cover some or all of the four skills: Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing - but will also involve the learning and understanding of grammar as this provides the 'hook' on which to hang words. I will look at phonics to aid pronunciation, and various techniques to aid memorisation. I do set regular homework. I like to teach using songs as music helps you to commit learning to the long term memory, as well as being fun!
Over the years of teaching Languages I have used / taught students through many exam boards, including WJEC, OCR, Edexcel and AQA.
I have helped many students gain high grades in all three subjects both at GCSE and A Level. Many students have exceeded their Target grade or improved from their mock exam grade to their final result, gaining in confidence and enjoyment of the Language.
